Joint Stimulation on DRR

In 2005, Pakistan received a massive earthquake that has affected thousands of lives and hundreds of settlements. Besides the loss of lives, the heritage and Cultural assets were also damaged. Pakistan is among the most disaster prone countries in South Asia. The 2022 flash floods in Pakistan left one-third of Pakistan underwater. Remembering the past condition and reviewing the present situation, the Sindh Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Aga Khan Agency for Habitat – AKAH Pakistan International Committee of the Red Cross Pakistan National Disaster Management Authority, Pakistan Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Sindh has organized a training and networking of First Aiders team across Sindh. The cultural first Aiders team of Makli was also invited to join the training program. #weconnectmakli . Safeguarding heritage is an important step as well. Makli is among the first world heritage sites that has an emergency response cell and a team of Cultural First Aider.
