Ancient city of Brahmanabad (Mansura), served as the first important stronghold of Muslims on the soil of sub-continent is located about 18 kilometers south east of Shahdadpur.
Mansura was the historic capital of the Arab empire in Sindh. The city is usually known as Brahmanabad and locally as Dalu Raja-ji-Nagri in Sindh, situated about 13 km south-east of Shahdadpur railway station, and 69 km north-east of Hyderabad. The ruins are dated back to 7th century A.D. The ruins of Brahmanabad are spread over an area 6.4 km in circumference near the modern city of Shahdadpur.These ruins were excavated by the Department of archaeology & Museums Government of Pakistan for fourteen seasons, and a large number of coins, artifacts, ancient jewelry, and other historical objects were found. The most significant ruin found in Mansura is the large courtyard of a mosque, while the remains of temples structure destroyed by the Muslims are also visible.
