Main Info
Although the stupa at Thul Mir Rukan has apparently no historical associations or legendry lore behind it but its importance lies in its being so well preserved. It is a solid cylindrical structure, constructed with a brick casing about 20 meters in height stands over a square base about 22meters in each side. It would appear to have been built in four tiers surmounted by a dome, each tier being smaller than that below it and separated from it by a string course of semicircular mouldings. The face of each tier is ornamented by pilasters at intervals, each having its base and ornamental capital. A number of terracotta images of Buddha and representations showing the birth scene were found in the excavations.
